Some people, specially the old, underestimate prices to a funny extent. I remember my impression when I say that ad I saw in the classified seeking a Submariner Rolex for a maximum of $500: AS IF! But if you give it a thought, many people are eager to buy a fake Rolex for such price. Some others can't even tell the difference! In fact, not all fake/replica Rolexes are the same. You can find a wide range of sellers and manufacturers, whether in a dark American alley or a dazzling Swiss shop. So you have to know a bit about some available options in order not end up having a 'bad replica' after all. You can find someone offering you a Rolex for $7, he'll probably be Chinese! They use Chinese-made movements (usually quartz) and a poor case. The fonts, digits and styles' bad quality can't be missed. The easy conclusion is: it's good as a watch, horrible as a Rolex. The funny this is, the sellers sometime give such watches a close name which can trick a glance-reader like "Folex" and "Rolexx"! Moving to a higher price range, and another manufacturer country which is Japan, you can have an offer of $40-$200. Again it's not a real Rolex but its quality is relatively better than the Chinese as it uses better components (quality is directly proportional to price if you know what I mean). I must say these Rolexes are a bit more similar to the original. Now with the closest to the original: The Replica! You have to take care of something when you get a promotion of a 'Swiss' Rolex Replica, that's because 'Swiss' here refers to the movement (which apparently determine the price range as I mentioned before) and not the country of origin. Don't let someone charge you more for name trick. Even though not originally manufactured at Switzerland, making Replica watches DO cost a lot (maybe $300 a piece). Maybe that's because the manufacturers follow the 'Swiss attitude' of giving much concern to fine details which makes their Replica the most respectable non-genuine Rolex. In addition, the Replicas use high quality: - Movements: such as the Omega and Quartz. - Case metals: whether stainless steel or gold. - Bracelet: with all the fonts in a nice and matching colors. With such a high quality, I say it is quite difficult for a non-professional to find out that your watch is not a real one. So once you make sure it's a Replica then prepare a $500- $1000 budget with respect to the model you want and your preference between gold and stainless steel. Once again, try to be SURE it's a Replica and not one of the other cheap types, choosing a well-known store (whether online or offline) could help a lot. |
