Who can forget Sean Connery golden years at the 60's? I remember that in a recent auction, a replica of the Rolex Submariner that he wore in "Dr. No" was sold for $10,000! I bet the buyer was a devoted Bond fan.

Connery's Rolex has the strangest story. It was initially sold to a Bond fan in the 1980's who happened to use its 'submarine' part in riding a real submarine! But it was the unluckiest submarine of all as it made an accident after he, the captain, fell asleep and crashed into a sea mountain (yeh I know, a submarine titanic came to my mind as well!).

Luckily he was able to survive quickly, but his submarine didn't have as much luck. It took nearly a year, due to weather and depth, to retrieve it from down there and search for any remaining items inside.

The captain didn't believe his eyes when he saw the Rolex once again, and he was breathless to find that it started working by itself just as soon as they got it to the surface! Thanks to the waterproof case he was keeping it at.

As a matter of fact, Rolex is no.1 watches bestseller in both its genuine and fake versions! Promoted by the hands (literally) of many actors, action and adventure movies, the Rolex Submariner has been every audience's dream.

Ever since, the captain took the Rolex as his 'luck watch' more than just a high-quality and chic one.

He even had a special order of a bunch of replicas to give as 'I wish you the best luck' gifts, hoping that those replicas will have a high quality luck as well!

Many Bond fans and collectors tried to buy the captain's Rolex, following this story, but in vain. So they moved to his friends and relatives (whom he had gifted) trying to persuade them to sell theirs. It was his mother-in-law who accepted $10,000 in exchange of her 'horse shoe' Rolex.
